If it helps, I don't really look at the video after the first time.

Well I don't know if that's really the case because it always thoroughly amuses this simple American guy.

It must be the clever dialogue and excellent comedic timing.

Touche

Note I am too lazy to use the properly modified "e" in that word.

Probably my favorite single line was Tae's cameo.

I was referring to the British TV references

Off topic, I didn't know you guys got it over there but you definitely should watch That Mitchell and Webb Look, one of their sketches was referenced in this episode of Glass Fleet Abridged and it's uuuhh, awesome?

Well, there's always youtube. That's how I found it. And yes, it should be required viewing for anyone the least bit interested in how to make sketch comedy work.

YouTube has extended the maximum video length to 15 minutes.

When it comes to Abridged Series, I don't think this will change much, but it's an interesting change.

We've always had the ability to post videos longer than 10-11 minutes... we'd just have to split it into parts.

As it is, a lot of the 10-11 minute Abridged episodes seem drawn out. I don't think anyone with a sense of what they're doing will need to take advantage of this (for an episode) except for the rare occasion when they don't think they can/want to cut anything from a long script.

imo

Awesome. I know it doesn't effect us "too much" for the most part, but it's great for movies, finales, and especially, One Shots.

Also 1Kids, next time I see you on Skype you're helping me get one of these here strikes taken off. Especially since it's supposedly a lot easier to now.

I'd say for people abridging movies or doing one shots of multiple episodes it'd be a big thing.

The reason I say this is not so for finales is because: A) Only a few will actually reach that point, and B) finales are something that, for the sake of pacing and flow, probably should be split into two parts.

I've been thinking about why I see it this way and basically what I've come up with is that it better reflects the finale of the original work. Typically, a non-distant finale will have two parts to it: the build up to the climax(defeating the villain, coupling up, whatever) and then the conclusion/epilogue. For example, here recently Antfish finished JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It had the fight with Dio(part 1) and then the airport/hospital scenes(part 2). There's a pattern of this with a lot of different series(not just anime, either) so you can probably think of many different examples.

We were going to do that weeks ago, but you never contacted me again about it XD

Sure thang dude.

Also, on the topic of changes YouTube made, here's another one that I VERY MUCH approve of....

Not only does this have all the functionality of the old "My Videos" page, but it has even more. Now I can see ratings and stuff.

Also, they took Insight out of the dropdown list, and put only the lesser used buttons in there. Wow. Just wow. I like.

Hey that's pretty cool. Hopefully people don't go crazy with 15 minute long abridged episodes because as others have said too many videos are sluggish at 10 minutes already.

But I can see it very useful for people who previously had problems with on going stories and finding a good stopping point. The latest episode of East Blue Studios One Piece Abridged comes to mind. Mikey was telling me they had to cut the script short because of the length. That's always a drag. I made arrangements to do that with Ninja Turtles, it's nice to know I wont have to now but I may keep it shorter anyway. Then again TMNT Bastardized was 4 roughly 8 minute long videos for 1 episode. For pete sake that's longer than the running time of the actual episode.

Between the userface changes and this nice upgrade and the new copyright laws (though YT isn't going to do us any favors on that still) things are looking really good for this hobby we all enjoy.

I don't think it will change much of consequence. When checking out a new series, if the first episode is 10:00 long, my immediate thoughts are "This is probably gonna suck." Now if I see a 15:00 first episode, that'll change to "This is probably gonna really suck." I love being proven wrong, though. :D

I'm glad for the change, really. I try to avoid two-parters whenever possible because I feel that having to stop and load a new video kills whatever momentum you had going in part 1. I appreciate having some extra breathing room.

I hate cramping dialog together and love fleshing out the editing a little, especially with Sands, so I might abuse this a couple of times down the road. I won't attempt to go over 8-10 minutes intentionally, but it's nice to have the elbow room.

Why, back in MY day our abridged episodes were SHORT, and we had to wait FIFTEEN minutes for them to load. And let me tell you, they were good! Not like these new fancy abridged episodes with the whats-it and whojamacallits. Yes sir, we KNEW how to make every second count since we didn't have many to work with.

I'm sorry, Grandpa, but I plan to bend that 15 minute time limit over and show it what happens when it's too forgiving.

Oh, I completely forgot about that one, the creator showed up on the TFS forums calling everything epic.

We need a terrible abridged series thread
