IMPORTANT NOTE: DarkBomberKid helped write this episode too. I was going to put his name on the opening credit, but Vegas destroyed my original project file. Sorry for not giving you due credit, buddy. :(

I only laughed once, I found that the jokes in the entire episode (except for the last one, which was amazing) were paced differently than your usual style, not to mention that I don't think they were all that strong.

Spoiler: show
Other than "F*CK YOU, WIND!", which I think moved too quickly, but it was clever. WGS also had let me in on that joke beforehand, though, so I get it.

Amazing way to end Butterfree, though.

I can't say that I'm all that pleased, though, to see the script style change so quickly. I really enjoy classic PTAS scripting.

To be a bit more specific, I found that the jokes were too rapid paced and obscure. Sure, PTAS has always had obscure jokes in it.... but there are usually other jokes too.

Or maybe I'm the only one who noticed a difference.

To be fair, it probably is paced faster, and here's the reason:

After doing a couple cons, and showing our videos, one thing always stuck out: The amount of time people weren't laughing, and there was just awkward silence in the room. I seek to alleviate that, which is really only made possible by the machine-gunning of jokes.

However, pacing is really important. I was pushed to the limit with the deadline, so some of it was probably rushed. I was really excited to After the extremely long and unfortunate wait kill Butterfree, though, so that's also a likely factor.

See, the thing is, not laughing doesn't mean that the silence was awkward. I rarely ever watch ANYTHING and laugh all the way through. You're aiming waaaaaaaay too high.

Machine gunning jokes: great. Machine gunning jokes at 10x the speed: not great.

I generally find the most successful jokes in my own content are the ones that are paced every other line. One joke line, one setup, one punch line, one obscure joke, then a punch line.

The only time silence from your viewers is bad: when they're silent the entire time, or for most of the time. Or during a pause where they're supposed to be laughing.

Best episode.

It was never not funny at any point in time and thus relished in always being funny. Screw buildup, why not have an assault on your funnybone until it's broken. IMO.

I can respect the sentiment of setup, since it makes certain elements more poignant, but I was laughing the whole way.

Fixed.

Call it what it is. I understand you just don't like my scripting. That's your opinion. I'm giving mine.

lolol at the butt-hurt.

Anyways, I can see both sides of this argument, as I'm a pretty big fan of the good setup. I guess this episode just didn't lend itself to it, or Champion, DarkBomberKid and I weren't in a 'set up' mood when we scripted.

Either way, hope the times that made you laugh were worth the times you weren't. : /

Hmm. It was good, but it needed more Dragonforce. Five songs wasn't quite enough. That being said, thank you for returning to form after the hellish WTF that episode eighteen was.

Mighty Butterfree forever! You need T-Shirts. And also, a SEX POACHERS! T-shirt. Seriously. MAKE THEM NOW! DO IT NOW! NAO!!!! Ok I'm done.

Also, you killed him. You KILLED the Mighty Butterfree. What the hell was wrong with you people? Wasn't it enough to get rid of him? Have you no hearts? I always thought that you were the heroes of our time, but now you killed the warrior inside PTAS that made it awesome. I feel like I just received an ultra beatdown, and I have no reasons to live. I'm undergoing body breakdown in the fields of despair. My mind walks a trail of broken hearts on the last journey home, and my flame of youth has been extinguished. But though I die, my spirit will go on to haunt you, Box of Danger. This atrocity will not stand. Prepare for war.

That was way harder than i expected it to be.

Great episode! I'm confused as to why you set a due date, but at least you sticked to it admirably. Machinegunning jokes definitely worked out really well. Continue with the awesome. Bravo, TeamFourStar. Bravo.

I AM JAMES FEAR ME.

Eh, killing him was mild to me (kinda like vomiting 3 times then, oh he exploded).

Then again, I wasn't much of a butterfree fan anyway.

A 3-second intro. I love you.

Pretty good episode and great sendoff for Butterfree. Lots of great moments throughout. While definitely faster than usual, the pacing worked pretty well for me overall. However, going for nearly two minutes without a single joke was way too long. I understand what you were doing, and the buildup paid off quite nicely in the end, but it just felt like too much.

But still, well done, sirs. The Mighty Butterfree will be missed.

I thought it sucked that they removed Butterfree from the series, not you guys, the creators of Pokémon. You guys gave Butterfree some decent respect in his departure, and for that, you will always be heros in my mind.
If that was in any way cheesy, please tell me.

I greatly enjoy this episode, while I do notice it's quite different from previous episodes due to the pacing I feel the writing for this episode was suited for this for the most part.

While some jokes could've pulled off better with a slower pace I feel it was a success and at least you slowed down the pace for the most important joke of them all. Which, by the way, is still hilarious even though I knew this was coming MANY MANY months ago!

This also had some of THE best Butterfree jokes and went kinda beyond the one-trick pony you set him up to be.

Bravo

Episode overall was okay. i liked the lines right before the quick OP, made me giggle. dunno what to say bout the bulk of the episode. Lots of yelling, but few if any topping out. Glad u ended it the way you did, tho i kinda knew you'd end it like that for like ever. 4/5.

Everything seemed to have the Champion touch. Having said that, I didn't laugh except at Meowth and butt-butt. I feel like I'm listening to myself tell other people's jokes.

Question for the people with the stuff and things: Are you working on getting an iTunes feed set up? Because I kind of need a portable version of this, mostly so I can scream "Sex Poachers!" at people and show them how awesome Mighty Butterfree is (I mean, was... bastards.)

Oh, I forgot to mention earlier how awesome it was that you managed to cram the four album titles into two sentences and keep it coherent and awesome. I didn't forget to tell you that you suck for killing Butterfree, but it bears repeating, because you suck for killing Butterfree. A LOT.

No, you're not. I wrote something really mean at first, then I decided that it was perhaps too mean, so I deleted it.

Anyway, I lol'd at the episode. Eddie did a great job with his lines... and I find it depressing at how much I'm laughing at the terrible line of "Nothing but net!" All in all, good work.

Sex Poachers!!!! One of the funniest episodes yet. A definite step up from 16 and 17.
