Alright, so I happened by this nifty service today called Tapatalk. Basically, it would allow me to create a version of the forums that would be friendly and easier to use for smartphone users, mainly those of us using iPhones, Android phones, Blackberrys, and Nokia smartphones. To make use of it, you would need to download a special application that costs $2.99. The cost is for the app, and does not go towards Box of Danger itself.
I'm trying to get a feel for how this might gel with some people. Should there seem to be enough interest, I'll work on getting it implemented sometime between this week and never. However, should only a handful of us want it, I may just nix the idea. Then again, I may just do it anyway, making all of this completely pointless.

I'm pretty sure that the only people who check the forums out are you, and in a rare situation where he's incredibly bored, movieman742, unless drbroel has one and is on the forums all the time. So that would make for 3 people, maybe. Given the average age of our fans, there's no reason, as most people that young aren't going to have smartphones, let alone go on the forums with their smartphones.

Oh, also forgot to mention it'll work on the iPod touch, so also for people who have those.

I would actually use this a lot. Greg is right that I'd use it when I'm really bored but I think he underestimates me. I'm graduating and I don't have a job lined up, soooooo, that means I'll be doing stupid boring stuff for the foreseeable future. I'd actually pay 4.99 if it meant that 2 bucks went to you guys. You could always do that, make an app that's actually good, then add a buck or two so you'll have an small little income for yourselves.
I don't know how many people would go for it, maybe close to 50??? I honestly don't have a good guess though. How many were you thinking about?

If it makes the forums more accessible by any means, I think it's worth it. I won't personally use it, as my phone is six years old and lacks this thing called "Internet Browsing," but that doesn't mean others won't use it. That, and if we somehow make it big, it'd be nice to just be as easy to get to as possible.

I have to agree with MasterWGS. I think it's worth it if you guys want to get a little more popular than you are, and who knows, maybe someone might get it that can't use the forums a lot. I don't see one downside to this idea. Sure it might start off slow, but hell, you can promote that there is a freakin iphone and android app for the forum. That's just cool.
I say do it just give it time to mature.

Yeah, there are items I need to attend to that are a higher priority.
Besides, I'm able to post things just fine using my handy dandy Android phone, so you should be as well, especially when you get that new one with its 4.3" screen.

Setting Tapatalk up to work with your board doesn't take much time at all, so yeah it is worth it. I use it for a number of boards already so yeah it would be useful to use it with more.

To add onto my last post:
I just did this for T.A.C's new site, and it really doesn't take very long at all. I am really awful at doing stuff like this, but with less that 10 minutes of work it was worth it even if only one person ever uses it. It is a simple and easy way to manage and browse the forums on the go, and doesn't seem to have any negatives, so you guys should just go for it :p.

I've sent him a link that takes all of 10 minutes to do. He's lazy and won't do it, plain and simple. If he doesn't care about something he'll just complain and put it off until he's forced into doing it, then he still complains. It won't ever change. Ask all you want, we won't see any change.
