Happy 2012, everybody! Hope it’s treating you well so far.

Box of Danger in 2012 is hitting it big! We’re kicking off the year with our usual appearance at Ohayocon in Columbus, Ohio, January 27th-29th. Register now if you haven’t already, and come hang out with us either at the con or during our panels. We have two of ‘em this year: Abridging Theater and How To Panel. Watch us show you some Abridging videos (including two or three new videos from us!), or come get some tips from us on properly running a panel.

Speaking of Ohayocon, you want to look good while you’re there, right? Make a good impression on us while exciting all the ladies with your untamable swag? Then you should check out our revamped store page! The shirts are a bit pricey (roughly $25 + Shipping), but they’re quality shirts that won’t wear out or fade. You can also get 10% off your entire order for entering in the coupon code “flayzer”.

Regardless, looking forward to seeing you at Ohayocon, making more stuff this year and HITTING IT BIG.

Ohayocon 2012 and Store Page!

Author: Grant | Filed under: Abridging, Conventions, News, Panels

Well, it was a long time comin’, but it’s finally here.

Pokémon the Abridged Series: Episode 21 is now available on Youtube. Knowing them, though, it could go down any minute, so check it out while the getting’s good!

Our good man Roooster also provided us with a bit of laughs in the form of Dungeons and Dragons: The Ultimate Champion Series. Not totally sure on whether or not to continue this series. It’s not so much that we didn’t like it (we loved it, in fact), but this seems like a gag that might only work once or twice. Feel free to voice your opinions in the dedicated thread, or in the Youtube comments.

Oh, also this thing happened this weekend. It was called Ohayocon, and in all likelihood, you probably missed it. And boy did you miss out big. Videos are sure to be on the way, but here’s a tip for the future.

Probably more stuff coming your way, and a potential change in Podcast feeds again as well. Mevio apparently can’t keep up with us anymore.

PTAS 21, DaDtUCS, and Ohayocon Reflections!

Author: Grant | Filed under: Abridging, Conventions, News, Panels

Wow, has it really been THAT long since our last update? Well, my New Year’s resolution is to start making this site something really cool to be a part of. Sorry for all the delays and stuff, but understand that this site and everything involved with it is merely a hobby for those of us involved – We all have other jobs and often school to deal with as well, so that leaves precious little time to have fun with this website. That said, I’m off this WHOLE semester, so hopefully that’ll mean more stuff for our Box of Danger fans!

To get the year started right, we’ve updated the Dangercast, FINALLY. Dangercast 14 is here after weeks of failed uploads on Mevio. Hope it’s still relevant now that it’s only available in the far-flung future of 2011. Me, Greg, and Zac run down our high and low lights of 2010, and we threaten your very lives with explosive mp3s. Listen at your own risk! Also, please give your feedback in either the iTunes comments or in the official thread!

Also, in case you’ve forgotten, Ohayocon is coming up soon! A bunch of Box of Danger folk will be present, including myself, Eddie, Greg, Goo, and Joel. There’s also (as per usual) the unlikely possibility of an appearance by James, but don’t hold your breath. The big thing is how many out-of-state Abridgers seem to be showing up to the party. Check out the official thread for details, as this might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We STILL don’t have an exact time/date for our panel, but we do know it’ll be 90 minutes long. Swing by for some tips on abridging, crazy panel shenanigans, and games with prizes!

Once again, sorry for all the delays, and I (with the help of my fellow Box of Danger guyz) hope to keep this site much more active in the future, with maybe some new features… Hopefully.

The Matsuricon Panel has finally been given a time and day! It’ll be on Saturday, August 14th, from 2pm to 4pm!

Give us ideas of what you’d like to see us do HERE. There will likely be prizes, so come up with fun ways for us to give them away.

New iTunes Feed! Matsuricon!

Author: Grant | Filed under: Abridging, Conventions, News, Panels

Well, we told you it’d be out on the 6th, and we weren’t kidding. Here’s Pokémon the Abridged Series – Episode 19: Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen.

To be completely honest, work for the next PTAS episode hasn’t quite started, but we do have some work done on the next Aminorphs, Hokuto No Ken Abridged, and 0083 Aridged scripts, so those should be on their way soon. Also, be sure to come visit us at Matsuricon if you happen to be in Ohio in August. As much as we love messing with you guys online, we really love meeting you (and messing with you) in person. We’ll surely have a panel that’ll be packed with hijinks as per usual, as well as showing some of our favorite abridgers’ episodes. Tell us what you think would be some good panel material HERE, as we’re always open to suggestions.

And, finally, I am looking for a way to fix the iTunes problem. Might take a while, but I think LordMoonstone over at TheMented will be our solution. Keep those fingers crossed, and Box of Danger might be back on an iPod near you!

Man, do I sound like a corporate pitch-guy, or what?

Episode 19 is LIVE.

Author: Grant | Filed under: Abridging, Conventions, News, Panels

The details on our panel have been made official.

Our panel is on the Saturday of the con, January 30th, from 6PM to 8PM in rooms Grant and Harding.

All of this will be made available on the official convention schedule, which will be available at the convention itself, and hopefully on-line beforehand.

We’re all excited here at Box of Danger.  We’ve got lots of fun planned, along with 4 episodes to show, and 2 of them BRAND NEW:  the latest episode of Pokemon Abridged, and the other is a one-shot written by Dark Bomber, and edited by Xerostyle.  We’ll also be showing our Hellsing parody, as well as a classic episode of Pokemon Abridged.  This panel is the first time anyone will see the new PTAS episode, as well as Bomber’s one-shot (well, besides the BoD crew).  The episodes will be made available via YouTube, and the PTAS episode via iTunes, right after the convention.

So if you’re looking for something to do the last weekend of January, something to quell those wintertime blues, something to gird your loins with excitement and fun, look no further than Ohayocon 2010.  Saturday pass is $30, full weekend pass is $40.  Registration is now at-the-door only.

See you there!

Ohayocon 2010 Update

Author: ModernTenshi04 | Filed under: Abridging, Conventions, News, Panels

Well kids, looks like we’ve managed to score a panel at Ohayocon 2010, which goes down January 29-31. This was the first convention for pretty much every founding member of Box of Danger, myself back in 2005, the rest of the crew the 2009 con, so it’s great to be going back. SamuraiKH2 did an abridging panel last year, and invited us to be on it as guests when he learned we would be attending.

The day and time our panel will be going down is currently unknown, because I submitted our panel request to the programming director himself this past Monday morning, and he only just got back to me this morning. Apparently he’s a fan of parodies and has been doing fan dubbing/parodies for nearly 20 years himself, so he was excited about our submission and agreed to add us to the schedule. I’ve requested the panel be either Friday or Saturday, preferably in the late afternoon or early evening. Given the content of some of our stuff, and the general demeanor of our crew during past panels (read: my mouth), I’ve suggested that the panel be listed as a 13+, though that “rating” is merely a warning, and isn’t enforced like the 18+ panels are. Basically this lets us cut loose and have some fun.

There’s a good possibility this panel could be a TWO HOUR PANEL. We’re planning on using a good chunk of the time to have audience members come up to record dialog for some clips we’ll have prepared, to demonstrate the process we go through in creating the various shows we have. Who knows? Maybe your recorded dialog will end up in an episode!

He said he’ll try to get back to me either later today or tomorrow, but it could also be until next month as to when we’ll have solid details (sometimes these things don’t get ironed out until a few weeks before the convention).

Either way, get over to Ohaycon’s website and pre-register for the convention. This will be my fourth time at Ohayocon, and I have to say, for a con that’s usually only marketed in the northwest, it’s a damn good convention, one I look forward to every year. Pre-reg closes after the end of the month, and is $40 for the whole weekend.

Stay tuned to our homepage and forums for further updates.
